Direct Cremation

A century ago, even a few decades ago in fact, the idea of a Direct Cremation as a family choice was almost unheard of. But as we know, times change, personal views change along with attitudes to death and dying. More recently the financial considerations of a death can feature prominently in the decisions we have to make.  However, a Direct Cremation - sometimes called a Private Cremation - is no less dignified than a traditional service.

We differ in many significant ways from other funeral directors in how we undertake this kind of funeral. Perhaps the most important differences are:

• Your loved one can still be dressed in clothing of your choice.
• An Oak Veneered coffin with handles and nameplate is provided.
• Your loved one is transported to the crematorium by Hearse and NOT a van or estate car.
• They are accompanied by our Funeral Director and the bearing team.
• You are involved in selecting the date and time, so that you can reflect in private with family at the time at home.
• The ashes are returned to you shortly afterwards.
